What is Scaled?

Scaled is a different kind of consultancy. Sure, we offer straightforward services across a range of the usual growth consulting areas, but where the magic really exists is in the bringing it together into what we call the 10X Process – a 1-5 year cycle that leans in on every detail of the team’s learnings in scaling B2B businesses to exit and significant scale. And what’s more, we can back up what we say with real world experience, handing our partner businesses the rocket fuel to grow exponentially and aligning us all in the mission to grow! We are obsessed with creating Enterprise Value as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Who are Scaled?

Scaled grew out of that purpose-led belief and is now a fast growing consulting business focused entirely on helping B2B leaders scale without the pain.

Scaled is the brainchild of multi-exit founder and VC and PE consultant and NxD Simon Penson. Having exited a large agency business in 2020 and having helped build a leading UK Venture Capital business he realised that whilst most see investment cash as the answer to growth challenge the reality was very different.

What builders really need is LIVED EXPERIENCE support.

He is joined by a growing team of multi-disciplined consultants, each with their own story of growth and scaling across every area of B2B business; from revenue and finance to operations, client services, people and communication.

Senior Partner Richard Marriott, a seasoned agency and B2B veteran, heads our go to market and revenue services practicesupporting our clients in the effective growth of sales, marketing and upsell and cross sell. 

Their work covers the entire sales and marketing funnel; from initial GTM and proposition work to CRM, Martech and building the teams that surround it. That covers everything from top-of-funnel marketing to Rev Ops and client services, customer success and beyond.

The ability to combine this ‘hands-on’ revenue-impacting work with strategic consulting and NxD support allows our clients to grow fast.

How We Work With You

Having worked across dozens of B2B industries over the last 20 years, our consultants are uniquely placed to accelerate your growth through a combination of lived experience and our proprietary 10x Process; a roadmap to B2B growth. That doesn’t mean we take the same approach for all – far from it – but our experience has taught us the shortcuts and priorities, irrespective of stage.

Onboarding
Ahead of any partnerships we want to understand your business in detail. This means working through a pre-set list of due diligence to allow us inside the realities of where you are right now. From this we build a prioritised view of areas for improvement and further questions.

Day One
We then spend Day One together, working with the founder/s and/or senior team to understand challenges but also clearly set a success measure and timeline. This allows us to set clear financial targets and then, critically, the strategic plan to deliver it.

Structure & Governance
We understand the importance of accountability and governance as part of the relationship and quickly set up, or add value to your existing board as a chair or NED, transforming your approach to accountability and real time business improvement and reporting.

Strategic Plan Delivery
Alongside Board we also create working 'on the business Strategic Planning' meets to ensure our top level plan is delivered across all the four key areas of the business to allow for consistent growth.
